Often when people discover I’m a photographer they remark how exciting it must be to have a professional photographer in the house every day to take pictures of the children and our family life. Either my wife or I, sometimes both, positively acknowledge their expository supposition and detail the number of photo albums, cardboard boxes, and thrift store suitcases we have, all filled with prints and negatives of our family. I now have to add how many external hard drives, CDs, and DVDs I have in storage for the digital images added to the collection in the last ten years. [ More ]

I love your penguin Christmas card on your blog. The reason I’m contatcting you is I am looking for Imaginative Christmas cards for a coffee table book I have done called “149 Christmas Cards You Wish You’d Received” I think your card would be perfect for it and I was wondering f I could use it.The book is on imaginative, creative and off-beat Christmas cards. I have been doing my own cards for years, they are getting wackier every year, and I have always saved my favorite cards as well. I finally decided that I would like to do a book documenting people’s imaginative Christmas cards. I admit to having become slightly obsessive in my search looking through tens of thousands of cards. But I finally have a collection of cards that are truly wacky and wonderful. The idea is that it is not a “how to” book, but rather an inspirational, sometimes hysterically funny, collection of creative cards. Many of them are from photographers, graphic designers, architects, ad executives etc., but also from normal people fooling around with their Photoshop and scanners. As you look through the book you can’t help but smile at all the crazy, fun or just plain delightful ideas which people have come up with. the publisher is William Morrow, a division of Harper Collins. I am linking this book to a charity called “The Smile Train” which provides cleft palette surgery for free to children in the developing world. I would love to send you a copy of the Introduction and some sample photos so you can get more of a sense of what the book is about. Please let me know what you think.Thank you.
Yours Sincerely,
Karen Robert
