Afternoon stroll in the park

Sometimes the Photo God smiles on you. Spent most of the day in meetings discussing possibilities. Had very little time to add to the MyFinalPhoto image collection. Drove through a local park on the way homeĀ  before our evening dinner plans to celebrate my birthday. It was raining. There were few people in the park. I found a nice angle for golden leaves and silhouettes. And, thank you Photo God, someone other than a photographer was braving the rain for a walk in the park. I used a different frame, minus people, for My Final Photo. Just wanted to share with you how lucky we are to be able to see these small moments and create a visual record.

Fall Fishing

Brief interlude at Hoover as the western shadow crept across the eastern shore of the lake. The weather was brisk as the cold shadow enveloped the fishermen testing both their luck and ability to continue into the dark as the sun’s warming rays angled away from their shore.

Beating the Rain

Shot with D5000 today to compare with my D300 for quality and user interface. Serious differences that obviously make the D300 a more professional camera.

Also tested the D5000 for video quality. Video looks great. Sound is terrible, especially when a loud combine ripping through dried corn stalks rolls past. Of course, even a great sound gathering setup would have difficulty with that environment so that isn’t a great test. I’ve nothing to compare it to in this situation such as the D300s or Canon Mk5.

The D300 images is top, D5000 below it.
