The beavers have been busy on Hoover Reservoir felling trees along a path around the park at the end of Maxtown Road. Have yet to figure out where the beavers are carrying to timbers.
It’s election day and I’m in Amish country. Perfect time for something a little different. Most elections, especially 2004, I stayed in the city to cover the normal process of deciding who our elected officials will be.
This day was different. I was already out of the city on assignment yet needed to cover election day as I normally do. What better place than a polling place in Amish country. Especially when the state was using new electronic voting machines for the first time.

A police officer patrols the parking lot of a church to prevent campaign workers from placing materials on the cars of parishioners during the Sunday morning Mass.
This is the frame I used for testing my lighting for this photo of a trucker I shot for an editorial client.
The lighting had to be set up before pulling his cats from the truck’s cab where they lived during his cross country travels.
Client’s need required cats and truck exteriors. Lighting required and early setup so the cats would be outside their home for the least amount of time.

From an editorial shoot today.
Nothing quite like the smiling, expectant face of a child discovering their surroundings.
